Bucket List

Ok... I'm sure by now that most, if not all, of us have seen The Bucket List. If you haven't, you should. Today. If you have, you know what this is all about. I actually watched it shortly after it was out on dvd, however for some reason I was just recently inspired to creat my own. It's a work in progress, as I think they all are, but this is a rough copy. I'm not sure this is something intended to be shared with all, but I'm pretty open about my life. Some of my goals are personal, some are fun, some are sentimental, others are just totally random. I think the random ones are good to put on paper, because it'll keep me spontaneous. Keep me young. Keep me moving. Keep me alive. Keep me FUN! So, without further ado, I bring you my bucket list!

Drews 1st Day!

As you read in my last post, Drew started preschool yesterday! I am in total shock that my BABY is in school now. Seriously, where does the time go?!? Oy Vey!!!

Anyway, this past Thursday, he got to go meet his teachers and see his classroom. He was somewhat hesistant to go, shy when we got there, but once he warmed up he didn't want to leave. {as in, cried when we left!!} Then yesterday was his first day. I was kind of worried how he'd do, seeing as how big of a challenge bible school was! But not this time, he grabbed his teachers hand, said "Bye Mommy" and walked away! Not a tear! Such a big boy now...I'm proud of him, but it still kinda breaks my heart too!

When I picked him up from school, he seemed tired, bummed out, or both. I asked what was wrong, and he about started crying. He was upset because his teachers kept his school supplies. They took them out of his bookbag, and he didn't know why or where they put them. So funny! I was trying to explain that we took supplies so he can use them there all year. He didn't understand, so I had to change the subject to what he liked BEST about school! That brightened him up... he said he liked playing outside with all his friends {AWW!!!} and eating {go figure!}. "I ate lunch- chicken, green beans {which he refuses to eat at home!}, a breadstick, and jello. And I had cheez-its! And I had a snack- a cookie!" I've always told you my son likes his food, and apparantly he's happy as long as he gets to eat! Such a character, this boy is!

Enjoy a few pictures of Drews first school experience!

This was at his open house. He was super excited that they had so many hats and helmets to wear, and toy phones to talk on!

Standing by his cubby on his first day! He wasn't real impressed to be stopped for a picture!

This was in the driveway before school. Somebody was slightly excited....

What Life Is Made Of

Can you believe, that in less than 2 days Drew will start SCHOOL?! And in just over a week, Jordyn will start Kindergarten?!?! Wow. I'm just at a total loss.

I can't believe my babies are growing up this fast! I can't believe that I'll have 2 kids in school.

2 kids getting on and off the school bus.

2 kids making friends, learning, and growing.

In so many ways, I'm ready for this.

Ready for them to spread their wings a little bit.

Ready for them to make friends, get invited to/have sleepovers and birthday parties.

Ready for them to fill their little noggens with all kinds of new stuff.

But I'm also having a hard time with this!

Having a hard time accepting that they're growing so fast.

A hard time knowing they won't need Mom as much.

A hard time letting them spread their wings.

A hard time watching them go.

Because yes, this may be preschool and kindergarten, but I also know that in the blink of an eye, it'll be junior high. Then high school. Then college. And then they'll be on their own.

Getting married, having their own families, and sitting at home sulking while their own kids go off to preschool and kindergarten! I know that's all WAY down the road, but each of these little milestones will too soon be a memory.

Time just flies, and I'm not ready to give up these innocent, happy go lucky, depending on my momma kind of days! I guess I'll do what we all have to do.

Enjoy every moment we spend together.

Enjoy every memory we make.

Take LOTS of pictures.

BE THERE for every milestone I can share with them.

Be there to spend time, talk, giggle, and play.

That's all I can do, is be in the moment. And these moments, they're what life is made of!!!

{Silly kiddos, each in 1 leg of Daves shorts. They seriously crack me up!}

Sleepover

Last Friday night, my niece, Campbell, came over for a sleepover! She (and my 2 nephews!) was in town visiting for a weekend with Grandma and Grandpa. Since my parents were taking my 2 nephews to the zoo early Saturday morning, I offered {quite willingly!} to keep Campbell Friday night and all day Saturday. It was so much fun!!! But let me tell you, since my baby is now 3 1/2, I was absolutely exhausted after 1 day of having a baby in the house again!!! Crazy how I did it every night for so long as if there were nothing to it, but now 1 night just takes it all out of me! :) But it was so worth it... I hate that they live 2 hours away and I can't see these kiddos more often! Anyway...enjoy some pictures of my BEAUTIFUL niece!!

Dave and Cam hit it off quite well... they made each other smile constantly. It was SO SWEET!!

{And...do you see those chubby baby thighs?! Hello cuteness!!!! But why doesn't anyone think my chubby thighs are cute?!? Hello double standards!! haha}
