Today, we celebrate the birthday of someone incredibly important in my life.

My Grandma.

I won't spill the beans and tell you how old she is today.

You may be able to guess by looking at these pictures.

She's a rock to me.

Superwoman.

She raised 5 kids, stay at home momma.

She can pull things out of the oven with no oven mitts.

(No Lie)

She has a huge heart.

She loves my kids and they love her to pieces.

She loves me and I love her to pieces.

She's pretty much amazing.

Today is her day!

Holiday Weekend!

This year, the 4th of July was my holiday, so I got an extra weekend with the kiddos! Love that!! We had a BLAST!! To start out, the kids came home to new bunk beds in their room. They were ecstatic! Then we packed up and headed to Columbus with Aunt Katie to visit Grandma Suzi and go to Cosi. The kids LOVED Cosi...it was actually probably a bigger hit with them than the zoo was! We came back Saturday evening, and spent the rest of the weekend hanging out. Monday we played outside ALL DAY! What a PERFECT weekend that ended far too quickly, as always!!

Bunk Beds! They picked out their own bedding...Jordyn chose peace signs, and Drew chose Buckeyes! Seems like such 'grown up' choices...no more princesses and Spiderman for us I guess!

FlashBack

I was looking through some old pictures and just had to share this one! My baby girl at about 5 days old. She was sooo stinking tiny! Weighing in at 4 lbs 12 oz at birth...this is a preemie outfit she has on in this pic. Unreal to think back on how itty bitty she was, and to see the beautiful girl she's growing up to be. Melts my heart!!

Just A Dream

This morning, at approximately 3:13 am (not that I was keeping track..) I woke up to a little man standing next to my bed. He was about 3 yrs of age, blonde hair, blue eyes, wearing Elmo jammies... I recognized him right away, although I was completely in the dark (literally) as to why he was standing 6 inches from my face glaring at me. The following is a close rendition of our conversation:

Me: "Bubba, what are you doing?! Why are you staring at me?!"

Drew: "You forgot to put sunblock on me."

Me: "Huh?!"

Drew: "I said you forgot to put sunblock on me."

Me: *keep in mind it's 3:13 am and I was just startled awake* "Drewie I have no idea what you're talking about!"

Drew: "I SAID YOU FORGOT TO PUT SUNBLOCK ON ME!"

Me: "sunblock?! I forgot to put sunblock on you?! Bubby it's 3:00 in the morning and it's dark out. We didn't even play outside tonight. Why do you need sunblock?"

Drew: *with an extremely confused look on his face as he's realizing he's supposed to be in bed* "But if we play outside tomorrow I will need sunblock on me."

*at this point, I walked him into the bathroom, we put the sunblock on the counter where we'd remember to put it on in the morning, and he went back to bed. Just a dream, I guess. A very random, silly dream!

Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh My!!

Last Friday, the kids and I spent the morning at the zoo with Aunt Katie. It was pretty cool out, so we actually wore sweatshirts for most of the time...perfect zoo weather!!!! Truly, we couldn't have asked for better weather or a better day. My camera broke, so I only was able to take pictures with my cell phone. (And truth be told, MY cell phone broke as well, so I'm using my moms old flip phone from several years ago!!) I got what I could, and I'll have to get copies from Katie of all the pictures she took one of these days. THANKS to Katie for a perfect day....we had a BLAST!! We love you!!

So this totally just made me think...there will come a day, way too soon, that I'll be snapping pictures of Jordyn when she truly does get behind the wheel by herself. WOW...I'm not ready for that!!!
